WESLEY CHAPEL, FL - Wesley Chapel, long known for its blend of natural beauty and modern amenities, is expanding once again. Pulte Homes has acquired 332 acres of land from one of Pasco County's oldest families, the DePues, in a $16 million deal. The development, dubbed "Vida's Way," will feature 700 new homes by the end of next year as part of its first phase.

A Tribute to Vida Claire Barnes DePue

The community's name pays homage to Vida Claire Barnes DePue, the family's late matriarch, who was born in 1922 and managed the family ranch through most of the 1900s. Vida was a celebrated figure in the Wesley Chapel community, known for her resilience, hard work, and enduring spirit. The DePue family believes that the new development will be a lasting tribute to her legacy.

Location and Amenities

Situated between Curley and Handcart roads, and just a few miles north of State Road 54 and east of the Overpass Exchange at I-75, Vida's Way promises convenient access to essential services and transport routes. The community will offer residents an array of amenities, including a farmhouse-inspired clubhouse, a resort-style pool, pickleball courts, and even a large dog park named Fudge & Rusty's Park. More than a mile of walking and nature trails will also be constructed to maintain the ranch-like atmosphere of the development.

Collaborative Planning

The Pulte Homes team has been in discussions with the DePue family since early 2020. Both parties have engaged in a collaborative planning process, aiming to maintain the character and tradition of the land. "We were impressed with the extensive time and effort the Pulte team took to understand our family history," said Michael Nutt, DePue's grandson. Pulte has even partnered with Walker Brands, specialists in real estate development and branding, to develop an overall concept for the property that will honor its history while embracing future residential and commercial developments.

As Wesley Chapel continues to grow, the new development at Vida’s Way adds another layer to the community’s ever-expanding tapestry. Residents and future homeowners can look forward to a development that combines the old and the new, in perfect harmony with the spirit of Wesley Chapel.
