MIRADA - A Halloween party in the Mirada community of Wesley Chapel spiraled out of control late Thursday night, drawing a massive law enforcement response after gunfire erupted in the street.

According to multiple online accounts and social media posts, the incident occurred at a home at 10718 Ironwood Tree Way, where neighbors say the residents hosted a party that attracted an estimated 150+ young people, many believed to be between 16 and 21 years old. Witnesses reported loud music, the smell of marijuana, and alcohol being consumed by teens throughout the night, in the back yard, and around the property before the situation turned violent.

Without notice, neighbors said they heard several gunshots followed by screaming and the sound of people running. Within minutes, the quiet Mirada subdivision was filled with flashing lights as dozens of Pasco Sheriff’s Office units arrived on scene and a police helicopter overhead.
Crowds of frightened teens scattered through nearby yards and streets according to videos posted online. Neighbors reported that the adult woman who lives at the residence was detained and later taken away in handcuffs after police conducted interviews at the scene.
The suspect who discharged the firearm fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and is still at large.
In connection with the incident, Rosemary Quinn, 49, was arrested and charged with Open House Party for allegedly hosting the gathering that drew the large crowd. Quinn bonded out this morning on a $150 bail.
One resident said crime scene tape remained up over portions of Ironwood Boulevard for several hours as forensic investigators worked crime scene.
The Mirada neighborhood, known for its family-friendly environment and proximity to Wesley Chapel’s growing area, has rarely seen an incident of this scale.
